W107 Mercedes SL
Discussion
Hey All...
I'm looking to set a new car in the near future and I'm considering a W107 model SL. I've seen a very nice 1981 SL500 for a reasonable price, with pretty comprehensive history (though initially I wasn't looking for a 500!)
Problem is I can't find any information on them! Can anyone tell me what they're really like to live with every day? Are there any decent resources available on the internet?
Any info would be very much appreciated.

Good choice. First thing to learn is its an R107 SL not W107 [/anorak]
I drive a 300 R107 every day and it is a very reliable modern driving car. See the thread about 300SLs recently for general advice on what to look for. The 500 engine is a good choice and don't think it has any significant issues

My apologies... I thought the W107 was the chassis.
I think I've found the thread of which you speak to.

ETA- 'Warts and all' seems to cover the thread style!
