Dip stick

a friend of mine has just bought a 2002 SL500, is it correct that they have no dip stick and the only thing taht tells you the oil level is the computer?

Not sure about the 500, but the 55 is like that.

Go through a few buttons on the steering wheel and it tells you what the oil level is.

If it asks for a litre, just give it half (found this one out the hard way)

It's easier to put it in than to take it out.

checked his oil and the comp said to add 1.5Ltr, went back to the dealer and the comp said the level was OK. told him to keep checking the level as it may need a new sensor, all seems very scary to me
