Central locking W210

Hi all i have a p reg e300d the central locking is working intermittantly,i have 3 fobs for this car and when it works it works on all3 and similarly when it doesn't work then it doesn't respond to either. the mirror lights (red&green still do their thing and the indicators still flash but then i have to lock the doors manually, i have also noticed that when the c/l on the fob doesn't work nor does the c/l work from the switch on the dash. any suggestions...... as i say its inter mittany so i dont think its fuse related.....
