Hesitancy under power, 2.2 cdi question......

Another quick question, I've posted it in the engines section but it seems a little quiet.
When cold, the car is fine, revs all the way, and has no problems. However, when warm, and generally when making progress along the motorway it hits a brick wall, like a rev limiter at 3000 revs, nothing can persuade it to go over that. It's a right pain in the rear especially when trying to overtake, any ideas folks??

Hi Mike, try changing the air cleaner, read somewhere recently that fixed a similar problem, could also be the exhaust cat blocking up when hot.When cold, the car is fine, revs all the way, and has no problems. Thanks for the input folks.
got me stumped this one has, it can tootle around all day from cold to hot along A and B roads, and rev all the way... then...quick squirt down the motorway, on comes the 3k limiter and that's it....give it a rest for 15 mins and it's fine again.
No cruise control, so can't be that...
No lights on
New airfilter, no blockages
Have it booked into these chaps tomorrow morning to read the codes.http://www.autospecbristol.co.uk/
My Money is on a new airflow meter, or I doubt it, but may just need a good old clear out.
