Does anyone know of any of these for sale and what they are like to own? I know the fuel consumption will be stratospheric.

I've always wanted one of these because to me it is one of the godfathers of the whole uber saloon movement. And, with Porsche engineering it must be truly special. I was amazed to read that it had decent brakes too, is this actually the case?

Not sure about the questions, but as for ones for sale, try Avantgarde or Classic Benz

If your serious you could speak to Martin Pearse at MCP Motorsport (www.mcp-motorsport.com) as he sometimes can locate and import nice examples from Germany where they are more common.

Now that looks like a proper car, some modern stuff looks barely like something you can drive

what are they like to drive? I'm not expecting it to handle like a Caterham, I love the thought of a car that car munch miles in comfort, be happy wafting, or frighten some Boxster drivers!

IMHO, no super saloon has ever been quite as stealthy. Faster yes, but not as cool

great idea, I'll buy that for the train ride home (the one that makes having a car like that feasible!)

Somebody I met on a film shoot a couple of years ago had bought a very tidy example (he had it with him to view) for about £1250. It had about 250k (KMs) on the clock, and he moaned that a full set of tyres had cost him more than the purchase price, but it was certainly very quick and very understated.
