Dad is picking up an '05 CLS350 on Tuesday, which as a Merc fan I'm over the moon about biggrin. Silver over Burgandy red with 18's and very rare (in Ireland) Command with Nav and tv/dvd, which was the deal maker. We were looking for about 3 months and only this one and one other came on to the market with the navigation. Handy that it was in a colour combo that he liked! It's kind of a retirement present to himself and he's over the moon with it too and now regards his '03 E240 as, ahem, sh1te! (It's really not!).

Anyway, on the 330i I'm currently driving, the tv has had it's safety thing turned off so it keeps broadcasting while driving. Does anyone know how this can be done on the CLS? Dad phoned Merc to see if they could do it before he picked the car up but they sounded hesitent. If they don't, can it be done otherwise?

Haven't been around PH much in the last year, so sorry for the question, but if anyone can help, it's gotta be here!

Thanks,

Dubs.

Doubt if anyone in the official merc channel will do it for fear of legal reprisals should your dad crash whilst watching his favourite DVD!! wink

PIM (picture in motion) lead is available for the 03' CLS. Slightly easier (read cheaper) to do than the later digital TV car.

You won't get it from the dealer (illegal), but any decent ICE supplier should be able to fit one for you.

Hope he enjoys it; It's a great car.

Thanks folks. Digital terrestial tv is still a long way off here, so analogue (is that what it is?) is still in use. Will report back on progress but from the comments above it looks like I'll be paying a visit to an ICE installer.
