Is a C220 cdi a turbo???

They do have a turbo, sounds like yours doesn't work though.

Give the air filter the once over.

better now, I replaced the air filter which wasn't the best, and gave it a good run. Prior to the change it wouldn't really go above 3000 revs, and seemed to hit a dead spot prior to this...

Seems ok now, all clear and breathing well.

I have heard stories of some garages replacing turbos on CDI Sprinters, only to find later the air filter was a lump of coal all along.
