Independent in Croydon/Purley/Caterham??

Hi there,
I searched this forum but did not find anyhthing - so can I please ask for your help and advise. I am getting tired of Dealers prices and attitude, so I am looking for a decent independent in the Croydon/Purley/Caterham are (or anywere near there) for servicing and repairs - if and when needed.
Can anyone offer any suggestions??

I know a very good man in Kent (near Maidstone). Proper MB mechanic who's highly skilled, what sort of work do you need doing?

If it's just routine servicing there will doubtless be somewhere nearer though
