1985 280sl and curious smoking.

any ideas on this one. my new sl has been a gem, has been to george fraser for a check and just needed a few minor oil leaks tending to. last 2000miles in 3 months and next to nil oil loss.performance sprightly and tonite was travelling slightly in excess of 80mph on M4. on lifting off a plume of white smoke comes out, try same again and repeats. oil pressure, temp all ok and power unaffected. no smoke on spirited take off from standstill.got home and revved it up ..nothing from exhaust. oil still on the level....water looks clear. no new leaks. car running great..any ideas of likely scenario's here...

mine does the same at 165k miles. worn valve guides. Its not a big deal, it is unsightly but thats all. A thicker oild would make it do so less but then your probably using a worse oil.
