OK my dad brought this car last year from local Mercedes Dealership (Bracknell) has it been problematic from day one - simple answer yes. It has a F/MBSH and had around 40k on it when we purchased it, first off Mercedes always denied any faults with it from day one, however took it to an MB Specialist in Heathrow who plugged it into the Diagnostic system and told us of faults with the brake pump

Here is a list of things that have been replaced to date under warranty :-

Rear Shocks - Prior To Collection failed in MOT
Brake Pump
Torque Convertor

Thing is my dad is continually complaining of a vibration that runs through the car when driving at around 50-60mph - Yes it does so MB of Ascot denied any problems with the car MB of Newbury have admitted the car has a fault yet cannot find the problem they replaced the torque convertor advising us that this was a problem they had in the past replaced all oil etc. Told us to drive the car 2k miles if the problem persists bring it back.

The problem still does appear, so it went back and now they have said "yes theres a fault however cannot establish its cause nor a cure" They've emailed Milton Keynes for further advice to the problem, but im just giving up faith in the service surely by now Mercedes should have the car off us and give us a full on replacement until they think its fully resolved or what?

Has anyone had similar problems with their E Class its a W211 - 2002 Model its on about 70k now but still has a few months warranty all motorway mileage any advice surrounding this would be great.

oh how could i forget

The radio has also been replaced after the display just wurred off some smoke one day whilst driving.. this was replaced then the new one gave up as soon as i got home from the dealership then it was replaced again and has since been ok.

The rear Windscreen was replaced due to failing amplifier/aerial problems too.
