Hi Folks, some advice required pls.

I recently bought a phone cradle for my '06 plate C-Class with the telephone pre-wiring.

However, I bought the cradle from E-Bay (main dealer wanted £140 - for a bit of plastic and a chip - that'll be right, robbing gits), which means no instructions. I've managed to work out how to use most of the features but can't seem to access text messages - is it possible?

Cheers, Neil.

Text messages on the dash ?

That'll be a no, for the same reason John Law won't let you watch TV whilst driving !

No mate, not possible. It is a feature of the new W204 C-Class though.

Do you have COMAND? If so you can view them. Go to the systems menu then look at mail and you can view your inbox/outbox and IIRC send messages as well.

If you have Audio20 you can't as mentioned above do anything. In the new W204 C-Class it will speak you text messages for you, could be a bit of a nightmare with kids/misses in the car!!spin

Thanks guys. I don't have COMMAND, just the audio 20 with the prewired phone connection, cradle in armrest so i'll just have to make do without incar text at the moment - however, if the new model allows it then aurely that's more than ample justification to my better half that we need to upgrade the car bounce

See my Nokia N95 post - my comand allows full inbox reading and also writing and reply whilst in motion rolleyes sussed out the WAP as well so can bring up footie scores if I so wish.

This is the most intergrated bluetooth I have ever used (better then a Lexus amazingly) but was pricey - on top of the car kit the BT adapter was £350

However I am loving the CLS55 and once the dealer admits the air seats are leaking I will be even happier

Have you got a constant ticking noise from under the seat? I think it's the PSE pump and should be a warranty job. We had an SL recently with the same thing, the guy thought it sounded like a heart beat behind his left ear!! One of the pipes was kinked and subsequently leaked, the pump and pipes were all replaced.

Hope you get yours sorted.

I am trying to find another CLS55 owner who can tell me if the passenger seat backrest TOP should have a clicking relay (every 10 secs or so) - I am convinced the passenger seat is leaking but cant prove it and the dealer (inchcape) is doing the "they all do that sir" routine

If they all did that then your drivers seat would be doing the same!! Tell them you want them to prove that they all do it; a big group like Inchcape should have another AMG in stock E/CLS/ML etc they all have the same seats. It would annoy the hell out of me, I can't see why they don't just have a look at repairing it, surely it would be a warranty job anyway??
