A class auto gearbox... slipping clutch?
Discussion
I have a 1.6 A class with the tiptronic auto box. (2000 plate).
Recently the car has been playing up when pulling away from standstill or if slowing right down and then pulling away. Theengine revs build before the car suddenly moves forward. Once it is moving all is fine... tiptronic selection is not an issue.
Not having a clutch start to fail on an auto box before does this sound like the symptons and anyione got any idea of the cost I can expect to pay to get it replaced?
thanks

First port of call would be to check the fluid level, is it banging slightly when you engage Reverse or Drive? Those boxes are quite common for CU/valve body failures too. A short test printout from a specialist will answer that one though as there is always some form of fault code present.
