New Car - Protection Options!

All Mercedes cars have "Groundbreaking nano-particle clear-coat paint technology"
From MB's site :
"Customer Benefits
The launch of scratch-resistant paint goes further than just making a significant contribution towards enhancing the already exemplary long-term qualities and value retention of our passenger car range. When compared to conventional clear lacquers on metallic and non-metallic finishes, this newly developed scratch-resistant paint provides:
a threefold improvement in scratch protection of the paintwork from mechanical car washes etc.
a long term improvement of around 40% in terms of paint gloss
This scratch-resistant paint also meets the stringent Mercedes-Benz standards in terms of protection it offers from chemicals in the environment"
It won't stop your car getting keyed or stone chipped however.

Supaguard is, in my opinion, not an alternative to getting some excercise every other month and giving your car a good old polish and working up a sweat.
There are plenty of full time valeters on PH, post something similar in 'General Gassing' and they'll give you a nudge in the right direction.

Merc do a 'protection pack' which consists of mudflaps (not sure they'd look right on an SLK), mats and supaguard(?) paint protection. I've heard a few of the guys on the forum comment that the paint protection isn't fantastic, however I managed to get my dealer to throw in the whole pack for nothing, so it's worth asking for anyway.

Kev (PH name 'evolutionvalet') installs a clear stone chip "bra" by a company called Paintshield. May be worth messaging him to give an idea of effectiveness, price, etc Darren
