My April 06 CLS55 has easy exit - the manual says the drivers seat (active type) slides back and the wheel rises - well the wheel rises but the seat dont move an inch.

Im getting conflicting info (doesnt have it / does have it) on this and want to know if it has seat slidy easy exit or not

Anyone know pls

Cheers

The easy entry/exit function is an instrument cluster selected function, you will have to go into 'settings' in the cluster, select ' convenience functions ' and scroll down until you find ' easy entry ', it should then come up with ' off' ' steering wheel only ' and ' seat and steering wheel ', select the one you want and it should work.

I thought you may say that.

A couple of years ago the easy entry function was reduced to steering wheel only, due to a woman opening the door with the engine running, this moved the seat back on easy entry/exit, her foot came off the clutch and the car shot forward and hit something. This was in an SLK but we are having customers come in saying their easy entry doesnt work after having a cluster changed. This is because the function has been deleted from the cluster coding. Your dealer will have to get in touch with technical and order a seat control unit that has the seat and steering wheel easy entry function programmed in.

LOL - I`ll leave it its the least of my probs at present, the relay clicking from the passenger seat (they all do that sir) is driving me nuts - if they all do that how come the drivers seat doesnt do it ? every 10 secs "click" (yes all controls are off)
