I have a new SLK on order. I was not expecting it till end August but had a call today saying it's ready for collection (I was going for factory collection but work commitments won't allow anymore).

So the car could be in the UK and PDI's by end of this month - making it an 07 car.

I really want to take it but would there be a real difference in value if I wait till Sept 1 for a 57?

Thoughts please!!

Surely it depends on how long you keep it for.

3 years at least. Do you think after that time it will have zero effect?

If you keep it that sort of time I don't think it has much effect.

Check out prices on www.parkers.co.uk for a 3 year old SLK '04 and '54 plate.

I've called the dealer and said get it to me ASAP. Life too short to worry about a few hundred quid here or there.

So...new car in about 10 days....woohooo!!!

Enjoy thumbup

Factory orders do sometimes come early, often it is as big a surprise for the salesman as once we've got an estimated date we tend not to check every day.

Yes - I'm still wondering if I'll be able to get the roof down on the SLK biggrin

This summer(?) is really p***ing me off! My roof has been up and down three or four times almost every time I have taken mine out over the last few weeks!!!!

One of my customers fitted one of these http://eagleday.stores.yahoo.net/smcoroco.html which allows you to operate the roof at up to 30mph, he installed it himself and it worked really well.
