iPod Nano Car Kit

Hi all,


I want to have my ipod nano (8gb 1 month old) fit into my CLK W208. There seems to be a load of options available but I have no idea which one to go for. Any recommendations, retailers, price info or pics of installs would be great. Is it possible to control the ipod via the steering wheel when its installed? Would this replace the cd changer funtion? I'd probably look to have it fit into my glove box.

I'm also considering upgrading my speakers, any thoughts on what to go for? I know nothing about this sort of thing, can new speakers (clarion etc) fit inside the existing speaker housings?

They later cars have the function to control an ipod throgh the steering wheel controls via a kit which you have to wire in, but the 208's dont even know what an ipod is!!

Best thing you can do is go to Halfrauds or similar and get one of these add on ipod controllers with remote etc.

While your there they should be able to tell you which speakers will fit your car too.

Last time I was in Halfords they had a deal on the Harmon/Kardon drive and play iPod adaptor which is excellent (external display for track info and a metal jogwheel to replicate the iPod control wheel) for £99 with free fitting. When that first came out most places were charging £300 fitted.
