My recent experience with Mercedes has been nothing but good. I know they were getting a reputation for bad customer service but in my recent dealings I've got nothing but praise for them.

In the first instance I had my E-Class in for an MOT at Bristol Cribbs Causeway. Met at the entrance by an employee who took my details and guided me to the drop off point (undercover which is nice as it was, predictably, raining). They paid for a taxi to take me to work and arranged and paid for a taxi to pick me up again at the end of the day to take me back to the dealership. At all times I felt like I was being treated as a customer rather than an inconvenience.

Second thing was this morning when the car failed to start. Having a full service history at Mercedes dealerships I phoned their breakdown service and someone was with me within 40 minutes. Turned out the battery was shot (enough power for the lights etc. but not enough to turn her over). The guy replaced the battery, ran a full diagnostic on the car and I was off within the hour.

It is such a pleasure to be treated in this way so hats off to them for great service.

Complete opposite for me at Northampton dealership.
Bought E55 five weeks ago - i was told they would sort out private plate transfer - it never happened, car came back from dealers with log book sitting on seat still in previous owners name - i have now sorted it myself.
When viewing car i said front discs look shot but i was assured they were ok - week later car in for brake judder - service guy didnt realise i had just bought it and phoned me telling me i needed new discs and pads - soon shut up when he new i had only had car a week.
Been in twice for faulty sunroof, flakey fromt wheels which i have just found out have been refurbished ( three year old car !)phone not working properly, melted parking sensor, loss of power - all in all the worst experience of my life - love the car to bits but would not recomend this dealership to my worst enemy

I've used Bristol for my smart (normally classed as the poor relation within Merc circles) and they've almost always been spot on. It was only during refurbishment it all went a bit not right wink
