Guys,

Some quick fire qestions for those in the know!

Could do with some help trying to sell a 2001 low mileage SLK. Has the new shape SLK impacted much on the previous shape's resale values?

Do the SLK wheels have an endemic problem regarding lacquer peeling off?

Oh and finally, are females my target audience???

Thanks in advance

Carl

I think that the 171 SLK is such an improvement on the 170 model that it has had an impact on resale values, but then again how much are you asking for it??

As for the wheels, all Merc wheels corrode very soon in their life, and can get very ropey if not sorted as soon as the corrosion starts.

Females are a good target, but you may get just as much interest from the 'Hair by Julian' brigade smile

Ben, thanks for your insight. The car is a late 2001 with 28,000 miles, black/leather/auto/tracker/ v.g.c. What do you think it might be worth?

When i worked for MBUK up to Y2K there was such a big problem with wheels in general, especially SLK, that they put a reconditioning program in to effect.

Not sure if it is still running

All tyhe wheels were reconned by a company near Woburn.
