A friend of mine has recently taken delivery of a brand new 350sl; I have just noticed that the rear tyres have been fitted back to front, they are directional and are Dunlops. They car has done 250 miles, has any damage been caused to them?

I'm fairly sure Mercedes don't put Dunlops on from the factory. Sounds to me as if larger wheels have been put on.

If this is the case and the wheels have been put on the wrong way around, the first thing to check (pretty quickly) is if wider wheels were intended to be put on the rear axle. You need to make sure the wider wheels haven't been put on the front by mistake.

Incorrect. The 350 come fitted with 255x45x17 Dunlop SP 9000 straight from the factory. I have 4 with just two miles on if anyone wants them. (From the dealership to home whereupon new aftermarket wheels were fitted). However, there may be an option whereupon Mich are are fitted also.

The rear wheels may have been removed and then swapped left to right?
