SL55 AMG - brakes
Discussion
When I bought my 6 month old SL55 (2005) with 3000 miles on the clock, the dealer fitted new brake discs all round to cure the brake judder. 1 year and 6000 miles later the judder is back, albeit I will confess that the brakes work well, pull up straight, and below 80mph there is no judder. It is when braking from speeds (harumph) 'above 80' that the judder is apparent, especially under light braking. The discs look fine, no signs of cracking or similar physical defect, plenty of meat on the pads. Although the car doesn't do a high mileage, it is used 'properly' when I drive it every week, so I don't think lack of use is the issue.
Before I go back to the dealer, anybody got any thoughts? Are any of the aftermarket brake kits (eg Rossini) any good or any better? Thanks, in anticipation.

Hi Mh, your discs if fitted buy a main dealer have a 2 year warranty, although checking for the judder would be fun!!Before I go back to the dealer, anybody got any thoughts? Are any of the aftermarket brake kits (eg Rossini) any good or any better? Thanks, in anticipation.
Try giving them a series of Big stops,on the private runway, and see if they improve.
