CLK Wheels, bolts and spacers
Discussion
Hi
I have just bought a CLK 230 K and a set of 17'' wheels have been included as part
of the deal, as the car has 16'' fitted, and offering up the 17's to the car. I have some questions if anyone can help ?
1. The bolts are too long and it looks like I need some spacers (This was mentioned when I bought the car)
Does anyone have a part number of could recommend bolts and spacers locally (North London)
2. The tyres look close to the arches, is this OK ? I think the car has standard suspension, I just tried one against the frt wheel jacked up and with the car hanging on the jack and the shocker hanging it still looked near.
I have the tyres sizes if that helps ?
3. Finally I need a local Merc Specialist for the next 'B' service if anyone can recommend one !( North London) Recommendation would be good.
Thanks
Andy

What wheels are they Andy? If they are not Merc are the offsets suitable for the CLK. The tech. Spec in the back of your handbook will give details of what will fit your model. For instance I have just fitted 17's to my SLK320 and consulted the spec before doing so. The 17's fitted with the recommended tyres fit fine, look close to the limits though.
The inside of the wheels will normally be stamped with their respective sizing offset etc

Don't look like a Mercedes Part number then I may be wrong. Could the 81 be 8J. Take a look at the link below which leads to a company that specialises in Mercedes amongst a few others wheels. They will def. put you on the right track. The offset sound right mate. I think though the widest tyres would be 225x45x17
