C180K help please - what is this noise?

Hi Folks

I'm hoping someone can help me locate a mystery noise with my 1yr old C180K. I had the nearside back wheel off at the weekend to fix a mudflap retaining clip, since putting the wheel back on there's a strange creaking noise coming from that area.

The noise is only apparent when moving at slow speeds, and is prominent when I tap the brakes or go over a speedbump or pothole. I've checked to see that all of the wheelnuts are tight and can't think what it could be.

Has anyone else experienced this or has any suspicions on what it could be?

You might have had a little crack in the bottom of the spring there, when the car was jacked up it might have cracked right through, I do sell a fair few for the C Class. Get it booked in to make sure.

Thanks for that, it's booked in for Thursday as the noise is getting worse! Hoping the warranty will cover it
