SL55 water in the boot problem

My friend (who's not web savvy) has started to collect water in the boot of his SL55. The car goes into the dealer next week, any ideas to the cause? Maybe just a rubber seal that has popped out? Will he be getting a big bill? TIA

On the original SL55, the seals were known to let in water. Merc modified on the later models. revised ones have rubber flaps on the boot seal about a foot in from the sides and the corners have new plastic bits.

OK, thanks for that info, so basically its a design fault.
