Hello All,

I left my car at Gatwick for two weeks, and when I got back the TV wouldn't pick up any stations. It was one of those "assisted parking" deals, i.e. where you leave your keys with the front desk and they park your car for you.

Is there any common reason why the TV would suddenly have no channels available, or do you think someone has been "fiddling"? I've checked that the TV is trying to find channels in the UK, but a "scan" comes up blank.

Also, the battery was very low when I picked the car up. Could that have anything to do with it?

Advice appreciated, thanks. Going to be stuck on the M25 for hours tomorrow and have no TV!!!

All sorts of random strange error messages and warning lights happened with my E class when the battery was past its best, although it was still apparently healthy enough, as there was a never a problem starting the car. One day the battery just failed completely, and after replacing it with a new one, none of the problems ever reoccurred. Some things could well be voltage sensitive it seems.

A lot of the bigger mercs run 2 batteries, one for convenience features like satnav and TV and the other to start and run the car hence it is possible for the convenience battery to be flat yet the car start and run fine.
