Hi

I am currently trying to help a family friend who following the death of her husband needs to sell his car.

Please could anyone give me an idea of what it's worth?

It's a silver CLK430 on a W plate with about 87,000 miles. I'd say it's in pretty good condition throughout and has a full service history with a Mercedes specialist.

I know the car was imported new from Germany but I undestand it is to UK spec with leather, climate control, sat nav and phone.

I can get more info if it helps.

Any advice is very much appreciated.

David

Thanks

I'm thinking £10K sounds about right. It will make someone a good car although not quite my cup of tea.

with specialist service history, the thirsty v8, and 87k miles i'd be suprised if its worth as much as 10k , more like 8k - there is also a £1500 difference between elegance and sport models (sport being much more desirable)

ebay or pistonheads are probably best bet

At that age there are only Elegance and Avantgarde models which are mostly the same apart from lower suspension on Avantgarde (no cost option on Elegance), different colour wood trim and glass tint colour.

you missed the difference in alloy wheels types and grille finish.

the avantgarde appeals to a wider range of buyers and is worth more

You're right, I much prefer the bird's eye maple in the avantgarde.
