Hello people,

Just realised that I've been registered for ages and not posted a 'hello' as of yet.

Anyway, hello to you all!

I've been interested in Mercedes-Benz for some time, have owned quite a few, and currently have a fairly tidy 190E 2.5-16.

Quite a few posts over at www.mbclub.co.uk so many of you will know me from over there

Was at Brooklands this sunday (MB World):

Anyway, hope that I can help where I can, and look forward to reading loads of interesting posts over here

If I can help in any way please let me know.

Cheers,

Will

Hi Will,

Very nice looking car, and good to see another 2.5. Silver is better though (just kidding ). I was going to go to the meet on Sunday but couldn't. Was the 2.5-16 appreciated like it should be? I think we're the only 2.5s on pistonheads; there's a couple of 2.3s though. Please stick around to help me answer all the cossie Merc questions that I am always called upon to answer!! It's great here and nice to talk about cars other than Mercs. Everyone's nice too.

I am trying to learn everything I can about cossie Mercs but there is rather little known. Here's a welcome gift if you haven't seen it before, the original autocar articles from when the 2.3-16 came out.

I believe today's Autocar has an article on 'past masters' or similar, featuring an almandine red 2.5-16, I'll be picking it up later.

I've seen you about on mbclub, although you are conspicuously absent from mercedes190.co.uk! I currently help to admin that site, we're hoping to make it look better in the future.

Russell
PS how old are you out of interest?

Welcome to the fold, Will!

Good to see another older Merc in here! A very nice example, too

Fresh from his run in with a Porsche, maybe Pentoman and yourself could get together for some 2.5-16 vs 2.5-16 action driving

Hi Pentoman & others,

Yes I'm an active member of mbclub and I'm also registered on mercedes190.co.uk and 190revolution IIRC.

I've definately made a few posts on mercedes190.co.uk, there's some photos in the member's gallery too

It's my second W201 16v, I used to own an early 2.3-16, but I've owned a few 190Es in other guises too, as well as W202s (C200, C230 Kompressor) and a W124 (300TE) etc.

I've probably viewed at least 20/30+ 2.3-16s & 2.5-16s over the years too..

Glad to find like minded enthusiasts and if I can help in anyway please feel free to ask cool

Cheers,

Will
