W210 E Class Estate Irregular Tyre Wear
Discussion
Hi - does anyone know what might cause irregular tyre wear on my E class ? It is a 320 CDI Estate. The near side front tyre wears out on the outside and the offside front tyre wears out on the inside. I think that there might be a slight knocking from the front offside suspension. It does see to overly understeer when turning left. Car has never had any accident damage. The tracking is fine. So I guess it might be some suspension bushes or an arb ?
Any ideas ?
Will ask a merc indie to take a look.
Mercedes palmed my father off with a great excuse 'it is power steering'.

Check ball joints and drop links. Drop links are a common problem, cheap DIY job only £6 a side - see part 29, no special tools required.

thanks for the advices.
Car went in to a local indie for a B service, MOT and the tyre wear/clonking (and brake fluid).
Replaced worn front anti roll bar mounting bushes and drop links and adjusted a wheel bearing.
Car now doesnt clonk and there isnt an under steer when going through long left turns. So hopefully will have sorted the tyre wear.
Car feels like new again.
thanks
