I went for a look around yesterday and im going to take all my car loving friends for a browse. Even though its just a glorified benz dealer they were very curtious to my 22 year old self in my work gear, even when i was sitting in and poking around a S65 AMG. Im even going to go back and do a half day of AMG driving around their track. Wicked!!

Kai, how much does that cost?

A friend of mine found out they use a track somewhere and you can pay £75 to take a merc of your choice out on the track.

AMG TASTER PASSENGER EXPERIENCE - 15 MINS - £25.

AMG EXPERIENCE - 60 MINS - £100 (1 PERSON)OR £ 57.50 EACH (2 PERSONS)

AMG EXPERIENCE ADVANCED - HALF DAY £375 (1 PERSON)OR £195 EACH (2 PERSONS)

They have built an extensive test track beside the main building.

They also have an offroad experience but I didn't pick up the leaflet on that - sorry !

Guys,

I was down in the area on Thursday and decided i would call in for lunch (they have a cafe, and a restaurant) and had planned on looking/test driving a CLK63. Which I did. I also went for the twenty/thirty mins ride with one of the test drivers and can confirm that it is well worth it.

It is not just a full bore lap or five but they talk you through all aspects of the car, handling, esp, abs, gearbox functions, auto, manual, sport etc etc, and then skid pan and general car balance.

Well worth the visit, and a general wander around.

What do people make of the CLK63? I found its acceleration onto the longest straight of the track absolutely fantastic, some real punch from the 481 V8 with a soundtrack to die for.

Stop, you're making me jealous.

I'm still trying to think which would be the best car. CLK63 seems like a good idea but it's probably nearly as heavy as the E63 AMG (which is a bit more powerful)? I like the idea of going fast with 4 doors. S class too big and not exactly a track car.
