When I try to connect it with my mobile, it asks for a code.Does it want the code from my phone ( and if so how do I find that?)or a code for Comand ( with the same question) or do I just make codes up!

If it's your mobile asking for a code, try 0000, which is usually the default code for pairing two bluetooth things. The Comand unit may then ask for a code and you put 0000 in that too.

Don't worry if it's the wrong number, it won't block/lock your phone, it just won't "pair" with your Comand unit.

Bluetooth in COMAND doesn't work for linking the phone. You can allegedly link a bluetooth headset, or a PDA, but I've nver seen that confirmed.

MB have very recently introduced a Bluetooth adaptor which is wired into COMAND using the UHI interface www.emercedesbenz.com/Jun06/22_Mercedes_Introduces_Telephone_Module_With_Bluetooth.html

My dad has a new S Class (and an old mobile phone) which is prewired for mobile phones and came with a cradle to fit his phone (an old SE T610). Now he wants to upgrade his phone but the most up to date phone cradles that MB supply does not support any current phones. Been into Vodaphone, Carphone Warehouse etc and they all laughed at the list of phones supplied by MB as these phones are no longer sold by the big boys (or anyone outside of eBay it seems) and AFAIK MB dont have any plans to bring out new cradles. Madness.

Im assuming this telephone module would solve the problem? But it is a bit pricey. Dont suppose anyone knows if/when MB will be bringing out some new cradles for the S Class so the old man can have a mobile phone that isnt an antique?

I think it only works with phones that support SAP (Sim Access profile) of which there aren't many.

I would guess that they'd tend to focus on Bluetooth now so I'd be doubtful that any more cradles will appear. If the S Class has the standard MB UHI phone interface, then the brackets are standard across the whole MB range.
