notchy gearbox on slk320
Discussion
hi guys,
wonder if you can answer a quick question for my friends dad.
he has a 2000 slk320 with 50,000 but had a new gearbox 4000miles ago. both the old and the new gearbox's are notchy. 1st to second is worse, 3dr to fourth are also bad. the new gearbox is worse then the old one.
his local merc dealer is unable to help and say's all the manual are like this.
so quick question.
should a gearbox for his merc be like this or is he being told crap? if there is anthing he can do to get it resolved any suggestions?
thanks in advance
Rick

Yep - they all do that sir! Never ever ever buy a manual built before 2005.....I handed over a brand new manual SLK in 2003 and could not engage 1st at all. I really felt sorry for the poor girl.
She would not listen to us, £1450, too much, i like manuals. etc.
No easy way to say this, but - its a box of matches or a private ad.
They call it a characteristic.....I call it a BLOODY LIBERTY.
I now work for Porsche....enough said.
