1st post in this forum, normally always in the TVR forum.

Simple question really, I have just bought a 2004 E55 and was wondering if anybody has fitted a aftermarket exhaust on a similar car, I have been trawling the internet and there is a number of American E55's with modified exhaust and they sound the nuts, so thought I might consider a change.

Anyone done or know of such a change.

Thanks in advance.

There's Eisenmann as well who make a lot of OEM exhausts, but can also custom manufacture something for you. You can choose the tips and even the sound level.

Some sound files here including E55:

Assuming it's just improved sound you're after you can replace the centre box with a straight pipe, well you can on a W210 (previous gen E-class). If I recall it costs about £100 and any decent exhaust place should be able to do this.
I'm thinking of having it done on the CLK when the warranty expires as it's too quiet as standard.
