anyone know about the 2 springs in the boot of the c200
it does pop up but only a short way, then give it a push then it goes up.
car went into MB dealer for some work (console) boot was wrking fine. comes back boot dont work and slammed shut. GF told boot needs stripping and certain tools (i.e. book it in)
ok, I have a look and on one side a spring has "mysteriously jumped off, which is difficult as there are hooks located on eyes on it. managed to get the spring on, now boot opops up as said but not all the way
1> is there a special tool for puting these on
2> could the spring be worn/streched
3> could only have one spring (only for a few weeks) weakend that spring
cheers in advance

My e class has a similar problem with the remote boot. For me, my boot problem is totally random. Sometimes it opens smoothly, other times it opens about 5 inches and sits there. I have found that cleaning the rubber strip that sits around the boot aids a smooth release.
