We bought one of the 1st C Class Sports Coupe's in Spain. It delivered without a spare wheel. As a comporable alloy wheel does not fit in the car, i'm guessing that a "pump up" style spare was in there.

The broker that sold the car claims that Mercedes cannot supply a replacement. Bollo@ks right?

Anyway, I need to know if :-

a) It's a pump up style spare
b) if there's a generic one on sale that fits the C Class Sports Coupe with electric compressor (running on a budget) :-)

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Mercedes DO put an inflator and a can of 'gunk' in the boot, rather than a spare wheel (to save weight, therefore fuel, therefore trees and butterflies)

Inflator is £111 (Part no A0005831102)
Gunk is £27.75 (Part no A0005830712)

Have a look at www.shop.edirectory.co.uk/autosave/pages/moreinfoa.asp?recordid=815208&cid=225&afid=88888

Depends what size wheels you have. Mine has the standard 205/55 x 16 and comes with a space saver in the boot. The Evo and hisher spec versions may have differences. There are a couple of different fitments mentioned in the manual.

Thanks chaps.

The car is a 230K and has 17" alloys on it. Does that make it more likely to have the pump and gunk?

I guess I'll get a UK dealer (they seem to make more sense) to tell me.
