Hello, sorry to bust in your forum, I’m not a regular here in the Mercedes area. I’m wondering if you fellow PH'ers could help. I'm in need of adjusting the idle on an auto 280 SLC, its currently sitting at 500RPM (too low) it’s stalling when engaging reverse. I've not worked on these cars at all and have no idea of what the setting should be, also how to adjust it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks
Dean

The old W107's fell off our Workshop Information System a few months ago, It's due to be replaced by a new online system in a couple of months with all the 'Old Timers' on again, so I can't access any workshop instructions.

However in the meantime, I've found a dusty old stat book in the workshop that states the idle time should be 800-900 rpm. (add 50 if it's a US spec one).

Hope this helps, or try here -> http://mbclub.co.uk/forums/ if you get stuck !

Not seen that site before, 80 (!) viewing when I looked.

They call ML's trucks, and all spell 'colour' wrong. Guess they aren't local then.
