Has anyone had any success claiming repairs/compensation from Mercedes because their paintwork is crap? I've had all the chips done, but still my 2000 CLK200K has way more rust on it than it should have (given it's initial cost and miles at 25000) It's especially bad where the metal turns under at the wheel arches. My '94 Accord is in much better shape, but then the wheel arches are protected by a plastic guard.

Cheers

Don't all Mercedes built then come with a bodywork gaurantee? Our 1997 CL420 has a 30 year bodywork gaurantee.
I would think rust should be covered by that?

Most bodywork guarantees only cover perforation, but they may agree to fix it as a goodwill gesture. I suggest you find a good dealer who will argue your case.

Thanx for the replies. I took it to the local dealer today and it looks as though it is a warranty job. A decision is pending, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
