VITO 108D CV joints
Discussion
Well, my first post on the Mercedes page! Now I no longer have the XR6 (wife's part of the settlement) my Vito (Tim the Pool Man van) is my only vehicle (temporarily )
CV joints have been getting noisy for a few weeks, then today they suddenly got very much worse, so bad that I was worried to keep driving.
As it's my "slow" season for business, I decided to have a go at doing them myself. So far I have got 1 side apart; doesn't seem to be very bad (visually).
Anyone here done these themselves? I am assuming I only need do the outers? Any tips/tricks? Will also replace the discs while they are apart, both have a significant step on the periphery, both sides.
Cheers
Tim

Thanks for the advice...
I spent a lovely day today after starting on it last night, just got it back on it's wheels after a marathon 12 hour swearathon, and finally calling a mate who is a mechanic to come and assist
He had a typical Ozzie mechanic's solution: I wasn't using a big enough hammer!
