Opinions on C sports coupe please
Discussion
The wife is thinking of getting a C class sports coupe. I think it would be quite good for her.
Firstly, is it any good?
Second, which engine/transmission is best.(Kompressor or not?)
She is stepping upfrom a 1.6 VW beetleand wants a bit more oomph but I worry about her driving a rear wheel drive.
Thanks for any help!!!!!!

I have just ordered one for my wife for delivery in sept. If I knew how to post a link I would (perhaps someone else can help)as I asked this q a little while ago.
Obviously the consensus was good and a thorough test drive in a 180komp confirmed this.
Looking forward to getting hers as it will also be our family car, They have loads of room in the back and if 2 doors is ok for her (pain in the arse with small kids)then I say go for it!
regards
Simon

Hi,
Mu Mum had one about 2 years ago - she loved it.
She had the C220 CDI - definately recommend that engine - nice and civilised to drive, tip/auto trnasmission was very nice to use, and reasonably quick when ragged without any brown-trousers moments.
All in all a great car IME (limited)

We've had one since Aug 04, its a 180 K SE. We love it, 35 mpg motor way cruiser/20 mpg supercarged coupe.
Get Leather and Auto for resale, and if you are thinking of a used one they had a facelift in 2004.
It doesnt really have enough power for rear drive to be a problem, ESP sorts everything anyway and you cannot turn it fully off.
