Sold her today after long deliberation as I am just not getting to drive it enough, seems such a waste of a fantastic car just living its life in my garage!
Couldn"t help myself when I first saw one in the flesh, just had to have one !!
Main problem is I have 3 other "fast" cars to drive and I need to take stock of this situation and kerb my addiction to these cars, I just can"t help buying them its my major weakness. How are you all getting on with yours ? seems like theres a few out there now.
Tony.

Mine's going great, with no faults, not that I expected any. I've only done 3K in it because of the winter weather. I'll be driving it daily soon instead of the E now that the spring is supposedly here. Only managed to have the roof down once this year so far, so I wish it would warm up a bit I'm considering the DMS ECU reprogram and removal of the limiter at the moment. Also an interesting device has come on the market in Germany which gives you a switch mounted on the console for standard and loud exhaust settings.

The tyre pressure monitor triggered the other day and I found that one of the front tyres was down from 32psi to 27. Since I haven't checked the tyre pressures since September it's probably worth the £50 the option cost.

Tony,

If you don't mind me asking I'm trying to get a feel for how much the SLK AMg's are fetching 2nd hand as I'll be selling mine when it's one year old in July.

If you don't want to make it public would you mind mailing me off line please.

Tony, I take it you must have bought the car at a pretty reasonable discount to only lose that amount on the car, which as you say, is a blinding deal.

Annisut,
Long story but yes that was pretty much it, dealer actually sold the car I had bought and paid for and had to supply me another with a much higher spec as compensation ( shame ).

hi steve, could you say what the dms ecu program is ? My browser can't find the link. Also, anyone any knowledge of a device/reprogram that allows the roof to come down/up if you press the button for 2 secs rather than 22 (22 secs isn't long but seems like an age when your holding the damn button). I seem to remember reading somewhere that this (or something else) lets you move the roof when doing up to 30 mph (ala porsche) and also watch dvds when moving as well.

any thoughts ??

Try this for one touch operation of the roof:

www.benzworld.org/forums/r171-slk-class/1259156-you-wait-ages-genuine-remote-roof.html

DMS are here:

www.dmsautomotive.com/

I believe they quote 400bhp after the remap and it costs about £1K, but I can't find the thread about it, and for some reason it isn't on their website. They say it is undetectable by a dealer and that they give you a copy of your original map/code so it can be reverted at any time.
