A210 Evolution

Wife fancies one of these. Are they any good?

I hated the old A Class but have to say the 210 was a wheeze. Had torque steer like an olg MG Montego turbo. Recommend the manual if it's cheap enough. Forget the Auto, it drags the power down and has a nasty habit of lurching just as you come to a halt. Also the LWB rides better than the short - think there were some LWB A210's. They are'nt as un-reliable as people make out, but they have a crashy ride and are'nt as much fun as say a BMW 330....but if your wife has to have a small mpv there are'nt many better for the money. How cheap you can get one is the question....

Thanks. Looks like we could get a 2002 for between £8.5 amd £10.5 depending on mileage (18k to 44k). We have had an A160 from new that has now done about 104,000 miles and it has been virtually trouble free throughout. (for sale now for around £2,600 if anyone's interested.) They are great parctical cars that are OK (if not exactly great) to drive.
