Are there any amg specialist service centres within the mercedes franchise who actually know how to answer technical queries and know how to service them.Every question i seem to ask my dealer seems to create a problem. I recently asked if the gear change speed could be changed like on the M3 so it would change quicker and also if the gearbox could be defaulted to be in manual mode from start up. After a load of b******s the answer was no, then to be told by the technician if you wanted that you should have bought the amg model. He was actually sat in my SLK55AMG whilst he said this. Wakey wakey

They are useless. You may get an enthusiast but you will find you still know more than they do. You will find that forums such as this one and Benz World will give you a lot more info for specific questions.

It's not just Merc though, when I had my M3s I got more answers and sense from forums than I ever got from BMW.

all i can say in defence of the MB dealers, is that they dont come across the newer AMGs models as much as the shall we say the run of the mill cars, it a shame , but some of us do.
