Another one!
Well, the griff had to go - not enough seats (need three now)
After much driving of other makes - including a long look at the BMW 3 series (and provoking a massive diesel v petrol argument over on the BMW forum - oops!), looked at at the Audi S4, I finally bought a C43 AMG estate a couple of weeks ago.
What a fantastic car! More on that later when I have got used to it.
So, just thought I'd just say hello!
I am sure I'll be asking lots of daft questions soon!

Welcome! Now, the Griffith, that's a proper car, when you are talking TVRs. I expect you will miss it, but life's like that (unless you have unlimited money and garage space of course). The C43 will be a lot more practical, with a healthy dose of fun as well, and it's rarer than a Griff too. I'm still trying to resist swapping my E320 for an AMG V8 of some sort. Once you've had a V8 or two (or five), nothing else will do. The force is strong
I had an interesting experience with a C43 saloon back in December. I was in my now sold M3 CSL on a wide 3 lane A road. As the traffic opened up and he went for it I have to admit that the CSL wasn't catching the C43. Admittedly it was cold and the traction control sapped some power from the CSL but there really wasn't much in it as the C43 has a lot of useable torque. With 360bhp and a low weight the CSL in reality should have annihilated it. I was rather impressed with the C43 after that. It didn't look modified either.
Hi I too sold my griff and bought a new SL500 with AMG kit end of oct 04. Although its not got the grunt of the griff Ive chipped, de-limited and added Eisenman S/Steel sports exhaust, topped off with a set of 19" Carlsonns. Tempted with the Sagaris but dont think it gets any where near the refinemwnt of the Merc........
Thanks everyone.
I do have one question, which I will post seperately. Impressions of the car so far? Fabulous. Very well planted, sharp steering, firm but comfortable ride, instant shove from the engine whenever you need it and the brakes are simply staggering. I am having to totally re adjust my braking points, as I am braking far too early, or narrowly avoiding a motorway pile up when I brake. There isn't such great pedal feedback, which makes it hard work getting used to how hard to push! Just a little too hard and you have chaos behind you! Must get out and practice...
