Has anyone sucessfully managed to negotiate a discount on the official extended warranty? £912 for 12 months is OK, but always one to look for a bargain...

£1000 to cover a car that shouldn't have any faults anyway.

Thats pathetic tbh, and remember, they make money on warranties.

Put the £1000 in a bank, the next time it breaks/needs servicing, go to a good independant in your area.

On a "normal" car that would be true, but the SL55 has a lot of components (especially electrical) that could go wrong. E.g. I've just reported a fault with the massage function in the seats... would have been 5 hours labour to get the seats out and back in at £80 per hour... and if the TV breaks it would be a couple of grand.

Indies might be nearer £40ph, parts can be sourced more cheaply etc.....
Personally I dont go for warranties (except the AA one at £52 pa!)
