Mercedes Parts
Discussion
I just wish to get some things of my chest about Mercedes parts delivery.
Towards the end of last year, the differential in my 1995 (W124) E320 coupe went bang. My Mercedes Specialist duly order a replacement from Mercedes. They sent the correct diff, but some other part they sent (can't remember what this was now) was an incorrect part. The diff couldnt be fitted until the correct part arrived. The 2nd time they sent this part out, it was wrong AGAIN! Fortunately it was 3rd time lucky, however I lost the car for a month, and because the car couldnt be moved, it was taking up a ramp at the specialist for 2 weeks!
Earlier in 2005, Mercedes also sent over a wrong headlight glass, a couple of motors and switches were wrong, and this year my specialist was sent the wrong gearbox!
At the time of writing, I'm again currently without my car because Mercedes haven't stuck to they're original delivery date!
A week ago last Friday my factory fitted alarm/immobiliser messed up resulting in the car becoming immobilised, and the car having to be trailer to my specialist. A receiver for the remote was duly order and delivery date given for Tues/Weds of the week just gone. When it didn't arrive my garage called them, and was then told the part could be between 5 and 10 working days from when it was originally ordered!
OK my car is just over 10 years old now, but I'm still a customer of Mercedes, and my family have been since 1991. We've seen the decline in Mercedes customer service, but this is getting ridiculous!
Has anyone else had these problems when ordering parts?
I'll get off my soap-box now
