Have any owners done any mods with Brabus, Kleeman, Carlsson or AMG I would be interested to hear how good they are. I have just contacted AMG about the new upgrade kit and awaiting prices.
Any SLK55s going to Le Mans this year?

Kleemann seem to be highly rated. Apparently, ECU remap and headers will add 20-30bhp and 20-30lb/ft all for about 2k. That seems pricey but apparently these figures are pretty much spot on, bringing 0-60 down to around 4.5 secs or better and probably bringing 0-100mph to more low 10 seconds which puts it right in there with the new E60 M5 as well as the more powerful supercharged AMG models. DMS was mentioned by me in a previous thread but I am unsure about how true there bhp and torque claims actually are. The only problem with all of this is voiding your Merc warranty.

Also, with regards to the AMG upgrade kit, it consists of new brakes, new wheels, I think different suspension???? and then carbon fibre bits and a new steering wheel inside. No power upgrade though. Let us know what AMG come back with though.

Two US magazines have recorded 4.2 seconds for the standard car already. I doubt you could improve on that time much, because the limiting factor is traction, but in-gear acceleration would improve. However you can light up the rear wheels at 50 in the wet as it is, if you try Wider rubber at the rear certainly wouldn't hurt.

I guess an uprated LSD would help as well to get all that power down cleanly.

Indeed. It doesn't have one at the moment. Mercedes-Benz said that it would make the car tricky to drive because of the short wheelbase. There is some truth in that, but in conjunction with the traction control and ESP I would have thought it should be manageable. Most of the tuners offer a LSD, I believe.

On the US forums some people reckon they have got 265/30/19 Pilot Sport 2s on the back without any modifications to the bodywork.

Yes but were all on eighteens, I wonder if the same applies or are they on wider rims as well
