Has anyone here tried the sports v standard suspension and the 18" V 17" standard suspension?
I like the slk55 but cant help feeling the 350 is abetter balanced car and i dont like autos!
Having tried the variations does this make a real difference in on raod capability or does it make the ride jittery??

I have the 18inch wheels with the AMG suspension and it's a bit firmer than standard and you notice this on badly potholed roads but it's worth it when you get to the twisty bits. It's no Lotus Elise though, just a little better than standard.
I chose the manual too as I couldn't get on with the auto.

I have tried an auto 350 on 18" with sports sus and my own car which was a manual 350 on 17" on sports sus.
First thing is If you opt for the 18" wheels I believe you have to have sports suspension.
Secondly, I much preferred the 17" with sports suspension option hence the purchase. Slightly more forgiving ride but more importantly a lot less tramlining which can be a bit unnerving on country roads at decent speeds.
The standard suspension I also tried on a track car. more body roll but not unpleasant.

PS: The 350 is a fine car, just can't stand the fussy, artificial "racing" nose.
Sold it last May. Fancied a reliable open top. Can't hear the racing noise you mentioned, the hairdryer blocks out most things.
