What Mercedes do you think would have the best residual price after 1 year?

SLK 200 I think.

I guess the new S class might hang onto good residuals for the first year judging by the waiting list.

What I didn't mention is I can get about 31%+ discount on a new Merc so obviously save more money the more expensive it is. This is why it's important to choose the right car, if anything possibly get more money returned after a year then I payed for it.

Diesel + Estate = Cashback methinks. E320 CDi Estate, Brilliant silver, anthracite leather, Comand, Nokia prewire and detatchable towbar. Next (W212) E Class is the arse end of 2008 by all accounts.

Edited to add Avantgarde over Elegance every time.

That's correct Tuffer's but it's not the same as a few years back. Cars are becoming more and more difficult to shift and a lot of people now loosing money. Thats why it's getting harder and harder to pick the right car. Think I'll just go for the CLS diesel as the one I have at the moment is such a nice car.

How much will you be looking to get for the current car? I may be interested if its the right colour and spec.

I've two at the moment a SLK 55AMG, will be 1 year old in July and the CLS 500 in Oct. Both Black, highly specced and will have no more than 4,000 miles.

Not sure on prices as don't normally deal until a few weeks before UK return. More than happy to let you know nearer the time.

Actually coming out of the Merc's this year and going to drive something else. Looking at two completley different cars at the moment a RR Sport and the new XK jag coupe. So not sure I need to check for the best residuals now.

Tony

Couple of questions -

Are your cars UK supplied UK spec cars???
Is there a limit on the number of cars you can have in a 12 month period???

Many thanks

Simon

In answer to your questions Simon, the cars are both full UK spec but collected direct from the factory (I live in Germany). We are allowed one every twelve months the CLS is my wifes.

When I was at Merc we bought forces cars all the time. They are no different and not de-valued like some imports. CLS is a little risky though as it is not shifting in any numbers. New S320cdi would be the safest form of profiteering. More demand than supply, unlike the CLS.
