I'm really sorry that my beautiful black SLK55AMG has to be sold as I absolutely love it.
I've advertised it on Pistonheads classifieds. If any of you guys know someone who would love to own one but can't afford new - please tell them about mine - it is ultra - high spec, perfect in every way and priced very realistically for a quick private sale at £7500 less than I paid for it in mid July. Please let me know if you recommend anyone - and thanks!

Is that all they depreciate by in that period. Wow ! That is amazing if you can get that for it. Best of luck.

Pam,

So sorry to see that you have to sell your SLK - I have had mine since March 05 and love it to bits - would just hate to have to part with it.

Hope you get what you want for it - it is worth every penny of what you're asking, and no matter waht your reason for selling, I hope everything goes OK for you.

Thanks for the kind post - I am really upset to have to sell it. I will probably sell it back to MB as I don't think I can put up with the grief of selling privately. Thanks again - great to hear from a fellow enthusiast!

So sorry that you're having to sell - it sounds a fantastic car. Very probably in cherished, better-than-showroom condition.

Unfortunately I didn't come up on Ernie this month, so it's out of my price bracket. But I hope that it goes to a good home and provides the next owner with as much enjoyment as it gave you!

PS - as I know you like the Vulcan, here's a piccy for you of me flying one over Canada many years ago! Hopefully '558 will fly this year and you'll see one in the skies again soon! An even better noise than the SLK's V8?:

What a nice post - and even better photo! WOW! As you probably know from my posts on the subject we are great fans of the Vulcan and we can't wait to bring the family to see it fly again. Yes the noise is definitely better than my V8 - I can't wait to tell my son that you actually flew one - he's going to be so impressed! Thanks again for the kind thoughts - it's only a car, but I tend to get attached to them, and this one is my favourite!

Oh how I wish I could afford this car

Mind you I think it might be a bit too much for me to handle!

It's still for sale but I have only put it on Pistonheads, and even then without a photo because my camera isn't working so I haven't really made enough effort!
Also been very distracted as one of my daughters was involved the German school ski trip coach crash and I haven't even thought about the car until today when Ray wrote his post. Thanks Ray!
Perhaps I should advertise on Autotrader before giving up and selling it to a Mercedes dealer - I'll reduce the price too - now I must get this camera working, because no-one will take any notice of my advert without a photo.
If anyone has had good results and can pass on any tips for selling privately please let me know - thanks!

Hi Pam,

Your daughter is ok I hope!

From which neck of the East Anglian woods do you hail? I'm from near Norwich (place called Shipdham).
If you live round this region, may I divert your attention to the East Anglian forum. We hold monthly meets in Bury St Edmonds. First one on 2006 being held this Sunday (26th Feb)

Thanks Darren - we do know a few of the East Anglian PH'ers - we've been to a couple of the meets at Bury St Edmunds (we're near Stowmarket) - certainly won't be able to make it this weekend - husband and son off to Murrayfield and I'm picking up eldest from Dover (2 weeks skiing) on Saturday, taking her home, washing and re-packing then dropping her at Gatwick 4.00am Sunday for another 7 weeks skiing.

I hope she remembers all this when she's choosing our rest home!

Thank you for the kind thought - yes our younger daughter is OK, but it has been a difficult week for all the children and staff involved in the coach crash.

Sorry to hear of your daughter's accident - I hope that she will soon be over the worst of the memories of the event. And the same for all the others involved in the tragedy.

25 years ago (was it really that long?) I lived in Needham Market when I flew Phantoms at Wattisham after my Vulcan time. Lovely part of the world!

Pam I hope you dont have to sell back to Merc dealer........if you do make sure you are seated when they make the offer, just sold a 1100 miles SL55AMG back to a dealer, lets just say the owner has said he will never buy another Merc. Best of Luck
