Excessive Tyre Wear S - Class

Morning,

I am having to replace the rear tyres on my S320Cdi every 7-8000 miles. I have AMG 18inch alloys fitted with 265/40YR18 and am currently using Continental Sprort Contacts.

Has anyone else had experience of rapid tyre wear?

I am wondering if it's a result of the very compliant air suspension that allows the rear wheels to "wobble" about. The wear seems pretty even so I don't think its a tracking problem.

Any input would be appreciated.

Heavy right foot? Said this to a friend of mine who used to get a new S every two years. He only ever had to replace one set of tyres during his ownership of 6 S's. Various engines and wheels although, as far as I can remember, he never plumped for the AMG wheels.
