Not really an advert more a plea so posting here; a guy on the Merc forum I administer is having trouble selling his late model J-reg 2.5-16v. Probably a combination of wrong time of year, it's been lightly modified (wheels and exhaust), and wanting the cash in hand if anyone wants to test drive it.

Anyway, it's got 163,000 miles but if you realise that's not a problem on a 190E and want a brilliant classic for cheap, he's wanting to get rid of it quickly. He was asking for £4,000 but is now down to 'offers'. I imagine £2,500, perhaps even less, might secure it. Would make a good, reliable track car if you're that way inclined, or alternatively a stunning handling and still quick today road car, with all the Mercedes refinement, build quality, safety and reliability thrown in.

D'oh, whoops sorry about forgetting the link.

It is indeed this one here: http://s14.invisionfree.com/mercedes_190_club/index.

Or just go to the classifieds forum of www.mercedes190.co.uk

Well somebody has themselves a very, very good deal (although you can't be sure there wasn't something major wrong with it I guess).

I mailed Harri about this car a number of times and didn't get a reply (still haven't)

Does anyone know of any really good ones about?

OK, looks like I can't keep all 4 of my cars.......anyone want to buy the cleanest 2.3 out there? Going to have to let my 1988 smoke silver, 101K baby go. Having been in the motor trade for 14 years and 8 of that with MB, I think I'm a pretty good judge of what an honest car is. History file, all bills, original sales bill and all 4 owners locally known. New tyres, all orginal, no silly mods, just white indicators on the front (originals in a box) and a stainless exhaust (standard hidden tail pipe, no noisier). Car in Croydon if you want to see it. What's a fair offer, best over £3K will suffice.
