AMG mats no longer available?

Have had my SLK 55 AMG since March 05 - on another post on this forum, I read that I should have had AMG mats with the car instead of Mercedes mats. I checked with my dealer who agreed, and ordered a set of AMG mats for me.
However, they have now advised that AMG mats are no longer being produced - does anyone know if this is right or am I being fobbed off?
Any feedback much appreciated. Thanks.

One thing that is true is that UK dealers no longer carry the AMG range of keyrings, hats, umbrellas etc for some reason. However, if you can get the part number, it's usually possible to order most things from Germany. For example I got a AMG keyring and umbrella from my dealer as a gift when I asked if they were available, but they took a week to come. The umbrella was only sold in the US market as far as I could tell.

Fobbed off : Part number is B66037095 (£69), not too many left so I'd hurry.

Mercedes have kind of stopped all the Mclaren F1 bits and bobs due to 'West' tobacco advertising all over the place.

Does this mean that they are out of production then? Off to my dealers tomorrow to try and sort this out!

My dealer had ordered some for my 55 (FOC) which I collected yesterday, so there must be some still available. Very nice they are too!

Chaps, just a heads up for you:

Go to www.mercedes-benz.co.uk

Click "Passenger Cars"

In the Ownership Tab, click "Personalise Your MB"

Click SLK-Class

At the bottom of the screen, click "Download SLK Accessories Brochure"

Hey presto, a PDF with all the part numbers you'll ever need.

Cheers,
Greg

Part numbers for AMG mats, wheels, illuminated sills etc can also be found in the AMG accessories brochure:

Alc - 31 sets in the UK warehouse at MK, and 33 sets in the German central uber-warehaus. From experience, these will get sold and seeing as us RHD people with our non-conformist mats always get left behind, we'll all be looking at the new R172 SLK in Autocar before they come out again.

Thanks for all the replies everyone - problem solved.
Went to my dealer today to have another car serviced, and it seems a newbie in their parts department had ordered the wrong part number - for a car which is no longer in production - hence I was told the mats are no longer produced.
They immediately ordered a set for me, and even better, when I went back later today to pick up the car, they had discovered a set of correct mats in their store and had them ready for me to collect!
Of course I still think I should have had them in the first place! but for now I'm a happy bunny and my dealer is back on my Christmas card list!
